MY TESTIMONY 

My name is Rev. Marie Campbell, 34 years ago I was addicted to methamphetamine, alcohol and smoked weed. I got high any way possible and used intravenous methods of getting high. I was a drug addict and dealer. I had two children at the time and we lived in a drug world.

At the age 21 I was living in a building with no running water or bathrooms, however, we did have electricity. This was just a place to lay our heads because we lost every other place we had ever lived in.

My father invited me to church and the church was Calvary Chapel in Williamstown. They were having a week of revival healing services. I didn’t want to go because I didn’t want anything to do with God or Church, however, I agreed to go. I went Mon-Fri services. On that Friday in May of 1986 something happened to me when I left the service that night.

I went home and all the words of that weeks preaching came back to me. Things like God loved me, He can deliver me from drugs, He has a plan for my life, He can get me a job and He will forgive me for all the wrong I have done in my life. I put my children to bed and began to wonder, is this true and can God do all those things for me. Does He really care about me?

I didn’t know how to pray so I did what I thought was right. I looked up and said these words; If Your real and You can deliver me and get me out of this drug world, find me a job, find me a decent place to live and most important if you (God) can make me a mom that my kids can grow up and respect instead of being the mom getting high in the corner, then come right now.

I give you my life, do it now. At that moment I felt arms wrap around me and the only way I can explain it, is that I felt like a little girl sitting on the lap of Jesus and I was safe. I remember crying and crying but I felt loved like never before. I woke up the next morning and I felt like I had slept for weeks. I had a joy I had never had before. My drug buddies showed up that Saturday morning as usual and these words came out of my mouth; “by the way I don’t do drugs anymore” as I heard those words something inside of me said that’s right you don’t do drugs anymore.

I looked at my arms that had track marks on them and they were gone. NO MARKS! My drug buddies said I was just going through something and that I would be back doing drugs again. I told them I don’t think so; I think this is for real. I told them they could stay and not get high or they could leave. They laughed at me and left. I never saw them again.

Since that encounter I have never done drugs again. I went back to that church which is now Life Church and have been serving Jesus ever since. Out of that experience I truly believe GOD IS ENOUGH for any circumstance!

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

OUR MISSION

EMPOWER
Esther’s Recovery House Inc. is a non-residential outreach program where the addicted are made whole by the transforming power of Jesus Christ, become set free to live a life that brings restoration to the whole family. We want to provide you and your loved ones with hope for a new drug-free future through the power of Jesus. In the near future Esther’s Recovery House Inc. will include a  residential home for women ages 18 and over to be able to live in a safe and loving environment.

EDUCATE
We exhibit and inspire excellence. We provide curriculum for students and training tools so they can learn dependence on God. Our program places tools in their hands to learn a new drug free way of living. We begin the process of restoration and discipleship by focusing on 6 essential areas of life: Prayer, spiritual disciplines, decision making skills, accountability, boundaries, and consistency. We accept students who will commit to a minimum of 12 months.

EQUIP
We equip our students to understand God is their answer and help them to believe God has a great future for them. We help them by giving them every tool to live a drug free life and to fulfill their calling and destiny.

DESCRIPTION OF ESTHER’S RECOVERY HOUSE INC.
This is an intense one-year program to help adult men and women 18 and over that are struggling with alcohol, drug abuse or other life-controlling issues. We are a faith based discipleship/restoration program designed to help our students realize that God is their answer to true freedom and success. We provide an atmosphere of spiritual growth and nurturing with boundaries and goal-setting opportunities.

Prayer is primary in everything we do. We bathe every person in prayer coming into Esther’s Recovery House. Every decision is bathed in prayer. We know and believe that God answers our prayers according to His will. We make it a priority to teach everyone to pray.

WHAT IS ESTHER’S RECOVERY HOUSE?

Esther’s Recovery House (ERH) is a non-profit,  1 year, Christian based, out reach program designed to help adult men and women who struggle with alcohol, drug abuse or other life controlling problems.

ERH is a place of healing, where the addicted are made whole by the transforming power of Jesus Christ, being set free to live a life that brings restoration to the whole family.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

FAQ

What kind of curriculum do we use?
We use Teen Challenge curriculum.

Is there any age restriction to enter the program?
You must be 18 and older to enter the program.

Do I have to know anything about the Bible?
You do not need to have any knowledge about the Bible. You do need to have a sincere desire to change and a willingness to try a Christian based approach.

How long is the program?
The program is for 1 year.

Is there a monetary cost for the program?
Yes there is a cost.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes we take Visa, Master Card and Discover.

Do you take insurance?
No we do not take insurance.

If I leave the program before the program is completed, can I re-enter again in the future?
Yes you can, however you must start the program all over again.

Will my information be kept confidential?
Yes, all your information will be kept confidential.

How many hours a week will I be required to spend in the program?
It will vary from time to time, however approximately 4-6 hours a week.
